YOU CAN'T SEE YOUR OWN BUSINESS

The reports take a week. You still don't trust them.

Every department keeps its own spreadsheet, month-end drags, and you hear about problems when the customer calls, not before. We help you close that gap: reporting that's relevant and accurate, a faster close, and the decision gates that turn month-end from an argument into a report you can run the business on.

Blue Ridge Power runs a multi-gigawatt, multi-state, multi-entity operation on numbers we helped them see for the first time.

SYMPTOM VS. SYSTEM

The real decision is what it takes to run on numbers you'd stake your name on.

The spreadsheets aren't the problem. They're the symptom. Each one exists because someone stopped trusting the system and built their own version of the truth. The work is to close that gap: to make the number in the system the number everyone uses, from the plant floor to the board deck.

"Tennant needed a trusted partner to help us streamline our U.S. and European operations, find areas of cost savings, and map these new processes … Gray Matter Logic brought a seasoned team of professionals that delivered outstanding bottom-line results."

Tom Paulson, Chief Financial Officer, Tennant Company

WHERE THE VERSIONS SPLIT

Where your numbers diverge, and what a clean close would actually take.

The Implementation Blueprint helps you trace a real number back to where the versions split: an inventory balance, a project margin, a month-end figure. It shows you the manual steps between a transaction and a trustworthy report, and what it would take to remove them. You get the close discipline, the decision gates, and the one-source design mapped before anything is built.

The Blueprint is a fixed fee you agree to before it starts, so the one hard number you commit to up front is what the diagnosis costs. How much faster your close gets depends on where you spend your time now, which is exactly what the Blueprint identifies.

SEEN AT SCALE

We have done this for operations bigger and more tangled than yours.

Blue Ridge Power, a commercial renewable-energy EPC, grew from regional to national scale and lost sight of its own projects: revenue, cost, and schedule couldn't be tracked in real time, and overruns surfaced late. We put project management and project-based accounting on one platform. They deployed 7-plus gigawatts of infrastructure nationwide with 100% project visibility and real-time margin tracking, and multi-state tax compliance stopped being a manual job.

WHAT STAYS WITH YOU

A close that survives the people who set it up

Knowledge transfer is included in every engagement. We build a model of how your business runs so it outlasts a controller's or system administrator's departure, and we train your finance team to run the close without us. Whatever you choose to leave in our hands is scoped and agreed in writing. Most finance teams that commission a Blueprint carry on with us into the build, for the reason a CFO would want: the numbers finally hold.

BEFORE YOU COMMIT A NUMBER

The questions a careful CFO asks first

We run multiple entities, or a whole portfolio. Can you give us one consolidated view?

Yes. We design the chart of accounts and the entity structure so consolidation becomes a report you run, for the entities on the platform, with a defined feed for any that aren't yet. Sponsors and parent companies get a portfolio view without each entity losing the detail it runs on.

We have SOX exposure. How do you hold audit continuity?

We design for audit-survivability before configuration begins. The controls, the traceability, and the segregation of duties are built into the model, so the audit starts from the system's own trail. Your team stops rebuilding a binder every year. Compliance continuity is one of the design inputs from day one.

What is the payback, and how do I put a number on it?

The gains come from removing the manual reconciliations between systems, so the figure is specific to your operation. The Blueprint measures where your time and money leak today and puts a payback number in writing before you commit to a build. Your one fixed, known cost going in is the Blueprint itself, and the findings are yours to keep whatever you decide.

Who owns the numbers after go-live?

You do. We train your team to run the close and maintain the model, and we stay available for anything you decide not to bring in-house. The goal is a finance team that doesn't need us for the routine.

Do we have to switch platforms to get this?

Not necessarily. Sometimes one trustworthy source of numbers is a configuration and discipline problem on the system you already own. We tell you honestly which, before you spend on a migration you may not need.
